王棕，莖比假檳榔粗壯，成熟植株亦比假檳榔更高，一列列的王棕甚為壯觀。它的特色是幹莖的中部稍為脹大，生於莖頂的羽片（葉片），沿葉軸呈四行立體排列，結球形小果。

The Royal Palm has a stem thicker than the Alexandra Palm.  When mature, they also measure taller than the latter.  Rows of Royal Palm can be very spectacular!  It is characterized by a swelling in the middle portion of its stem.  Leaves are borne on the very top of the stem; rachis pinnately divided, leaflets are arranged in four planes.  Fruits are globose drupes, deep purple when ripe.
